Not feeling all that wise today, however I know someone that is!

I am such a fan of tinybuddah.com blog, in this mad world sometimes you need a little perspective. This site has been my voice of reason when all else fails, a little clarity in the madness of job hunting, rejections and getting back on the horse.

The post submitted by Celestine Chua is just a reminder to be grateful for the little things in life, or even the momentous ones we forget to remember now and again.

Abcense makes the heart grow fonder they say, and I certainly missed the blogosphere!

I am now an Aunty! :) Things have been a little hectic with births and visiting of family. I had to abandon my blog for a while, but I'm back with much to write!

Film reviews coming up and I'm going back on the competition trail, more news on that later in the week.
I'm also going to be updating my website, the ever so slightly outdated vikkiyates.co.uk with more recent pieces of work and a much cleaner look. I'm sure I'll be venting web design based frustrations soon! Hey, I love a challenge!

Competition Progress - how things are getting on.

To add to my portfolio, I'll be entering various competitions in order to work to relevant live briefs. There are a few upcoming, including illustration, graphic design and film.

This week ill be collecting imagery for the BBC Countryfile "Moment of Magic" photography competition. Entries close next week so I'll post my submission and some outtakes next Tuesday.


Until then, a selection of my own existing photos of the natural world.

I've decided im going to fill my week with "days" to give me a bit more bloging focus, Wednesday is wisdom day, and i wanted to share some from a brilliant woman named Kat. She has a blog called Rock and Roll Bride, to quote Kat,

Finally putting the finishing touches to my entry for Heart Internet's "Design Our Ad" competition - I love my concept, the trick is getting it to look how it does in my head! Im working on the "Every Internet Professionals Dream" quote from their website. Closes on Monday so image to come...

On a side note its great to be creating something again, many more competitions to come I think!
