Checking facebook I noticed an intriguing message from Sonisphere Festival. For those of you that don't know, a little background;
Sonisphere is a 2 year old festival, ran since 2009 held at the legendary Knebworth house. Over the past 2 years - in my humble opinion - it seems that Soni has taken over from the rapidly commercial, bland, money spinning rock/metal festivals around the UK. The first year was the trial run for my man Chris and I, yes this was a BRAND NEW festival, but not run by some nobody, we were in good hands.Kilimanjaro Live is a venture of the much larger global promoter AEG. Add to that the man the myth the legend Stuart Galbraith, a star studded list of artist he has worked with and the massive addition of the Legendary Monsters of Rock Festival at Donnington Park (AKA Donny)
Okie Dokie, back to the story. This festival delivered 2 years running and now my favourite festival has advertised for Sonisphere City Ambassador; "Sonisphere are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, passionate and entrepreneurial individuals to be a part of our brand new ‘Sonisphere City Ambassador’ team. We want people with a passion for live music and events to help us promote the Sonisphere festival in their own back yard."
What an amazing job! I'd get to do work I love, promoting a festival I love! Naturally I have applied, but wanted to show some Soni Love in the mean time with my favorite moment from 2009, my space hopper costume!!!
There is a fancy dress theme each year - space in 2009 - and thought id go a bit outside the box, and more into a craftily constructed orange bag of pillows!!! Many tried to have a hop on me that night and it kept me warm against the not so warm summer evening!
Now for my first ask for comments! What is your favorite moment of a festival or live music experience?
